01/18/2016 - College PREP - Omaha, NE Spencer is a tall, lanky RHP who will graduate in 2016. On the mound, this righty throws a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and loose/free arm action. He shows good tempo and has smooth overall actions. FB ranges from 74-76 mph with late running action. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with gradual break. He slows his arm speed, tipping off his pitch to hitters. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Spencer has abilities with a lot of room to continue to progress has game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
