07/29/2008 - Under Armour Southwest Regional Tournament - 2008 Taylor had a solid week of playing at the tournament. He showed speed on the bases, putting pressure on the defense, while also displaying his range in the infield and outfield. He shows plenty of hustle, desire and love for the game, and improved quite a bit in his knowledge and awareness of the situation. It is safe to say that his game offensively is that of a leadoff type hitter. He has the ability to put the ball in play and on the ground, so that the mid-order hitter can drive him in. His versatility to play second and outfield will help coaches meet the needs of the team. He'll continue to improve by refining his throwing motion through a throwing program and by implementing a lifting regiment for added strength. Overall, Taylor should continue to learn how to best use his tools, by understanding the problems he causes for opposing teams. There will be good fits for him at the next level, due to his speed and athleticism.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
