05/25/2008 - College PREP - Phoenix, AZ Tom Shows as a two way player in the middle of the infield and outfield and currently projects at both. Arm strength is near above average at both positions showing carry and life with his throws. He shows a plus back hand in the field and average glove action. In the outfield, he takes pooper routes and angles in getting to balls. Athletic ability is a plus at both positions. At the plate, Tom shows raw proper and potential to drive the baseball. He makes hard contact, mostly to the pull side. He needs some polish and instruction in approach to become more efficient at the next level. Craft has ability with room to improve to become a solid player at the college level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
