06/22/2008 - College PREP - Worcester, MA Tony is a smaller player but he is athletic. At 3B, Tony has soft hands and makes good backhanded plays. He turns the double play well and can defend against the slow roller. He needs to work on finishing his throws to add some power and a long toss program can only help increase arm strength. He has a good idea of how to field. At the plate, Tony has loose hands and a nice level swing. He has some pop to the pull side and he can increase his power by stabilizing his front side when he swings.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
