06/19/2008 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - 2008 Brenneman lowered his 60-yard dash time from 8.13 to 7.80. On the mound, he showed good command and had good movement on all of his pitches. His fastball was 74-78 with arm side run, his breaking ball was 65-69 with 10-4 shape and action, and he showed good feel for his sinking 63-68 changeup. He also showed good mound presence and poise. Can work to keep his arm angle and arm action consistent from fastball to off speed. At the plate, he had a good hitting approach and solid mechanics. Made solid contact for the most part, and showed gap power. Can work to keep his bottom hand arm softer to load, and must work to stay back longer with his lower half. At 3B, had good reactions along with some arm strength. Can work to improve quickness and lateral range. Overall, a solid all around player with some two-way potential at the college level.

02/10/2008 - College PREP - El Cajon, CA Trent displays a well above average delivery on the mound that allows is arm action to work loose and free. He shows a consistent balance point with good rhythm and tempo. He displays two solid average off speed pitches with his change up being his best pitch. He shows a great feel for his change up. His fast ball shows some run but he needs to get on a strict long toss program to continue to build arm strength and raise velocities. Trent's best tool on the mound is his command of all three of his pitches. He displayed the ability to throw strikes to both sides of the plate with all his pitches. He has potential with a lot of room to continue to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
