06/29/2008 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Trevin is a two player in the outfield and as a catcher. He currently projects best behind the plate where he shows a ton of ability. He has improved his arm strength and blocking skills since the last time that we saw him. Arm strength is above average displaying an easy arm action with carry and accuracy. He is consistent with his pop times in the low 2.00 range. He continues to show off his athletic ability in his blocking skills showing proper angles, deadening all balls out front. He is quick to recover balls showing well above average ability. Receiving skills are solid as he set up good, does get a jerky with glove action at times. At the plate, Craig shows solid average ability displaying bat speed and a feel for the barrel. Hitting grades will improve if some mechanical flaws are corrected in his approach, currently is late with stride foot and shows no load or transfer. Trevin has a strong body especially for a 2011 graduate. He has some tools and will catch the eyes of a lot of college scouts with his abilities behind the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
