Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

01/16/2009 - Under Armour Pre-Season All America - 2009 Trevor continues to show improvement in his baseball abilities, especially on the mound where he has improved the most. Arm strength continues to improve as indicated by his top velocity of 87 mph at the event. Off speed pitches have improved, now showing above average and will be quality pitches at the collegiate level. He has command of the strike zone with all his pitches and attacks hitters. Consistently, he controls the running game with a plus pickoff move and understands how to hold runners. Hitting grades and power has improved to near above average ability with above average power. He shows a solid feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. His body also continues to develop and shows future projection as it continues to physically mature. Currently, he now projects best on the mound where will be solid at the collegiate level.

06/29/2008 - Team One West 2008 - Scouting Report Trevor continues to show as a two way player on the mound and in the outfield. He currently projects best on the mound where he has a ton of ability. Arm strength is above average and he does a nice job of utilizing his tall frame to work on a strong downhill plane. Off speed pitches are solid average with his breaking ball being the better of the two as it has tight spin with late sharp bite. He shows plus command with all 3 of his pitches. Delivery is solid with good tempo allowing his arm action to work easy and free away from his body. He does show the ability to control the running game with a quick pick move to first base. Bayless shows solid average ability in the outfield. He takes proper routes and angles but does need to work to get behind balls more in the outfield. At the plate, he shows some strength in his swing with power to the pull side. He drove a ball deep over the left field wall. Swing path does get long due to an arm bar. Trevor has an upside on the mound and will catch the eyes of a lot of college coaches with his abilities.

01/11/2008 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2008 Trevor showed as we have seen him in the past as a position player. His future is on the mound. He uses his height well, really throwing the top half of the ball, and mixing in his breaking for strikes. His arm strength will improve, and his stuff looks to improve with some mechanical refinement. He needs to gain some more ground with the lower half and keep that front hip closed longer to improve his direction and give himself a chance to use that hip rotation. Still two springs ahead of him. Trevor is worth a follow.

06/23/2007 - Junior Olympic Tournament (AZ) - 2007 Trevor got hurt in game 2 on a collision with the centerfielder. He did come back to throw in game 5 and showed some promise on the mound. He needs work on his delivery and continue to develop arm strength. He is not a hitter or and outfielder.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
