07/14/2008 - College PREP - Cedar Hill (DFW), TX Trey is a young SS with a solid average body. Foot speed is solid average and he shows active feet in coming to get the baseball. Glove action is deep allowing the ball to get in on body, dictating play. He needs to present it more out front. He plays hard and will get dirty. Arm strength is average and he does need to get on a strict long toss program to continue to build. He does get rid of the baseball quickly with his feet and hands. At the plate, Walden shows average ability. He shows a line drive approach but mostly to the pull side due to long swing path. With minimal work and adjustments at the plate, abilities will rise quickly. Trey is young 2010 graduate with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
