07/22/2008 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Tyler is a young OF with a strong looking body. He throws from a high slot, over the top, with slightly below average arm strength. He needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in the development of more arm strength. Foot speed is well below average for the outfield and he needs to get on a foot speed / agility program. Fielding abilities are average as his shows active feet in playing through ground balls well. He needs to work to take better routes and angles in working to get behind the baseball and play through with momentum to target. At the plate, Connison shows slightly below average ability and power. He needs instruction with his set up, approach and mechanics of the swing. He shows level swing path and sprays the baseball to all fields. Tyler is young 2010 graduate that does have time to continue to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
