Official Scouting Report

07/29/2008 - Under Armour Southwest Regional Tournament - 2008 Walker is the type of ball player college coaches will enjoy scouting. He brings enthusiasm and passion to the field, every time you see him. He has very good athletic abilities that will allow him to develop and be considered a versatile defender. At third base, he moves well with his feet, and he can make the difficult plays in all directions. His arm has life and accuracy on it, as he utilizes a short, quick arm-stroke. In the outfield, he also impressed, showing good reads off the bat, and solid, accurate throws to all bases. He seems to finish and extend through his throws better from the outfield, than he does from third base. This may serve as an area of improvement for him in the infield. At the plate, Walker had very consistent at-bats, putting pressure on the defense by spraying line drives around the field. He has a very good eye and patient approach as dictated by the high number of pitches he saw per at-bat. His stroke is aggressive, short and simple, flashing good bat-speed and getting good extension after contact. Walker has a great mind for the game, showing that he wants to continue to learn and improve. By adding muscle to his frame, through a consistent workout regimen, Walker will increase his value to college coaches. He will have some very good options for college baseball, because coaches want players who love the game as he does.

05/25/2008 - College PREP - Nashville, TN Walker has an outstanding body and displays a lot of athletic actions, his body is strong looking. Arm strength is outstanding showing life and carry across the diamond. Glove action is solid average, presenting down and out front of his body. He does play a little high at times. Feet are aggressive and do a nice job of coming to get the baseball with his feet. At the plate, Walker continues to show above average ability, He has some strength to his swing and consistently shows the ability to find the barrel. Hand speed and set up are also above average and will hit for power. Bullington is raw but has the makings to be a solid player at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
