06/25/2008 - College PREP - Crestwood, IL Zach is a strong player with quickness and skill. Although Zach can also pitch with accuracy and a loose easy delivery, he is more suited for the outfield at the point. In the OF, Zach shows range and he takes excellent angles to the ball. He plays through the ball and has a very nice crow hop. There aren't too many flaws in his defensive game. At the plate, Zach has a strong quick swing with power to the gaps. He drives the ball and extends through it. Zach can flat out hit. He crushes the inside pitch and as he learns to keep his swing level, he should start hitting more line drives. He put on an impressive display during BP.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
