07/23/2019 - College PREP - Rindge, NH Zach is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Zach shows active footwork and covers ground well. He makes the routine plays and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws consistently on-line to his target. Fielding the ball out in front of his body can help Zach improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and takes a level swing, spraying the ball to all fields. Zach can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Zach gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Zach shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph. Breaking ball sits from 65-66mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 71-72mph. Consistently keeping his eyes on target can help Zach improve as a pitcher. Overall, Zach is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
